Prior to Ironbark, Matt worked at Foxtel and Screen Australia. He has worked on all aspects of the production supply chain including development, production, acquisition, and distribution. This includes finance plans and production budgets, talent agents, screen agencies, financiers and distributors, and all associated legals and paperwork.
At Foxtel, productions included The Kettering Incident, Secret City, Wentworth, Australia Day, the comedy Open Slather, as well as the Real Housewives franchise. He also advised Foxtel on its major US studios and international distribution arrangements with companies such as Showtime, CBS, Fox, Sony, Warner Bros, NBC Universal, eOne Entertainment and ABC Studios.
At Screen Australia Matt has advised on its numerous investments in film and TV projects including Palm Beach (film), 2067 (film), High Ground (film) Bad Mothers (Nine), Itch (ABC), Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries (Seven), The Inbestigators (ABC/Netflix) and Grace Beside Me (NITV/ABC/Disney).
Matt is a board director of Sport Access Foundation, a sport disability charity; a regional NSW telecommunications company; and Catchment Brewing Co, a craft beer brewery in West End, Brisbane. He’s a qualified lawyer and previously worked at Telstra, as well as corporate law firms in Sydney and New York.
